stefan sagmeister on design and happiness [video]
the tedtalks are always inspriring and a great watch, (as i’vee said before…), but this one from stefan sagmeister has some more to it.
in his 15-minutes-talk he reveals a lot of stuff that makes him happy, culminating in some points that make him more happy than before.
seems that there are some very good points in this list.
i’ll try to stick to those for a moment, the points seem noteworthy!
- Complaining is silly. Either act or forget.
– Thinking life will be better in the future is stupid. I have to live now.
– Being not truthful works against me.
– Helping other people helps me.
– Organizing a charity group is surprisingly easy.
– Everything I do always comes back to me.
– Drugs feel great in the beginning and become a drag later on.
– Over time I get used to everything and start taking if for granted.
– Money does not make me happy.
– Traveling alone is helpful for a new perspective on life.
– Assuming is stifling.
– Keeping a diary supports my personal development.
– Trying to look good limits my life.
– Worrying solves nothing.
– Material luxuries are best enjoyed in small doses.
– Having guts always works out for me.

wie jeden ersten montag im monat fand auch heute der blgmndybrn im domino statt.

gesprochen haben wir über einiges; vieles eher insidermässig, aber immer mal wieder kreisen die themen um spam, phpBB, selbstprogrammierte fotoalben [2], die wikipedia als zitierbares medium, herr löis projekt, sellout im zusammenhang mit blogs/bloggers an der hand nehmen, bezahlten content sowie digg-votes, 42, 43folders, stickkit und einiges mehr…
diesmal war der gadgetfaktor für einen blgmndybrn erstaunlich niedrig, olivier hat mit seinem leistungsfähigen [1] handy notizen gemacht, ansonsten wars eher weniger gadgety..
das nächste mal kommt bald, wer kommt dann auch noch?
[1] eigentlich wollt ich ja potent schreiben, denk aber, dass das dies etwas unpassend zur beschreibung: die gruppe ist “zumeist an einigen MacBooks oder spätestens am Tisch wo keine Frauen sitzen” wäre…
[2] mussten wir heute nachmittag programmieren, mein lieblingsbild (alle ohne irgendwas zu überlegen via google geklaut!) ist das hier…

the us of a is in deep trouble.
as other people, i really suffer with all the persons that are hit by the hurricane in the states. but if you watch those two videos below, you really get a sense on how deep the trouble is gonna be once all the news get trough.
the first video shows two reporters of fox news really freaking out while giving their impression of the crisis. you should watch both videos to the end to see the important part!
